I felt like creating a Celtic/Medieval style song after getting some Silly Wizard in a playlist. Started working on structure and lyric ideas on my acoustic.

One of the main motifs of those days is star-crossed lovers, and I wanted it to be a lover’s lament, but not too heavy-handed. I played around with the basic chords and initial lyric ideas of and on for a day or two before I added the bridge and it felt finished. In production I worked with layers of fiddle, piano and acoustic guitar to create the soundscape befitting the theme and hitting the exact atmosphere I was after.
